Waterchimes
This beautiful mature garden contained a problem area: next to the house, a totally overgrown pond sat rather incongruently at the bottom of a rockery.
The redesign focussed on re-using slates and rocks already in the garden to create a semi-circular wild-life pond fed by a small stream system. The water is
fed from the pool to a pebble pool on top of the mound, and from there follows a system of pondlets and gentle waterfalls back into the pond. A wonderful surprise was the soothing sound of the water trickling over the rocks. The pond's shallow margins and pebble beaches are ideal for wildlife. In fact, damselflies and toads were spotted on the very first day!
